The size and beauty of these Giant Lotus Flower Blooms cannot be overstated. With the largest buds the size of a snow globe, and full blooms as much as 12 inches accross and towering at times 9 feet in the air. The lily pads that act as solar panels to feed these majestic giants are themselves in fact massive floating islands of deep rich green, which just so happens to contrast the beautiful pastel pink tones perfectly. I am very foruntate that these giants live a short bicyle ride from my home, so I am able to check often to see them during their entire life cycle, at sunrise and sunset often in the same day. A Fun fact, there is a distinct popping sound when the flowers open in the morning because of the airtight seal being broken with significant force. They actually trap bees overnight in their tightly closed blooms which is a clever way to ensure maximum pollination before releasing the well rested, pollen covered bees early in the morning
