A bit of my workflow

Every year I have the honor of doing photo sessions for both Shichigosan and Seijinshiki, two traditional Japanese cultures in which children and young adults dress in Kimono. Although my primary focus as a photographer is currently landscape and natural world photography of Japan, these events allow me to stretch my artistic wings with the amazing colors and culture of Japan traditional dress set against the backdrop of temples and shrines during the most beautiful seasons. In this video I am giving a short tutorial about perspective correction which is a useful tool even for those who simply want better photos for their personal journals, memories, etc..

Since Fall I have been testing the Dehancer plugin to see if it fits my workflow. Though 4 months may seem a long time, I am still in the infancy of my experience with this software, but initial tests are very promising, and I will be posting more videos and final products for sale soon as Dehancer has allowed me to create differently and achieve results I would not otherwise have easily achieved. You can use the promo code FILMSTUDIOJAPAN for a 10% discount on purchases when you visit the dehancer website at https://www.dehancer.com/shop/pslr/film if you would like to try out their software for yourself.

Born north of Seattle Washington, I spent my early years running through deep forest trails, and meeting up with other children in secret hollowed out brush and stumps. Turns out this is not every ones childhood, who knew. I moved to Japan more than a decade ago, and knew immediately I would buy a good camera as soon as funds allowed. What I didn't know is that once in my hand the camera would rarely leave. Though I refuse to be pigeon holed into one genre, I am always most at peace walking through natural landscapes with camera in hand, once again looking for the hidden paths and secret hollowed out spaces, only now knowing my experience is not everyone's experience I am on a mission to share my experience bit by bit.
